Volvo Penta 5.7 Gi Inboard Engine

David,

No problem thanks for the opportunity at earning your business! Your situation is actually one of the easier ones to handle. The engine models changed in 1996 to the Vortec style which you undoubtedly have being a 2005 model. Basically here are your two options;

Body: I have a 2005 Four Winns 230 Horizon. Unfortunately I had a winterizing disaster and ended up with 4 cracks in the block. The worst part is that it only had 107 hrs. on it. I know this is true because I bought it new in 2005. It has a Volvo-Penta 5.7gi. fuel injected engine with 280hp. What is the best way to go, a long block? I would like to increase hp also. I won”t be purchasing until Feb. 2013. I’m exploring my options. I would appreciate any suggestions Thanks! David Flatt
