2000 SeaRay 190 with the 220hp MerCruiser 5.0L Marine Engine
James,
Thanks for your inquiry and the opportunity at earning your business. The only way to upgrade to a 5.7L EFI will be to go with a complete drop in motor. The thing to consider with this ption though is that the increase in Hp going from the 5.0L Carb motor to the 350 Mag MPI could possibly force you to change out the gear ratio in your sterndrive to get a proper match. As for Carbureted motors you can upgrade to the 5.7L power package and re-use some of your existing hardware to save a few $’s. Let me know if you need any further technical information or help placing your order. In either case I will be glad to assist!

I have a 2000 sea ray 190 with the 220hp merc 5.0L. The motor is getting tired and I am looking for more power, I am curious about swapping in a 5.7L (260-300hp?) merc. Same motor mounts? Same cooling system? whats involved with upgrading to EFI from the carb? any other suggestions would be great! James
